The Sense Group , as the official body representing the alcohol beverage business sector in Malta that promotes moderation of alcohol consumption is alarmed by the recent rise in drunk driving accidents and fatalities in Malta. These tragedies are preventable.

Last year we communicated the message Arrive Alive. Don’t drink and Drive across Malta’s media . Whilst reinforcing this message we highlight the fact the it’s not just about the driver but so many other victims that fall prey to such selfish carelessness . Do not take away their right to stay alive .
We call on the authorities to strictly enforce existing laws and ramp up public awareness, and we urge everyone to look out for one another. True friends can help others see reason before driving under the influence . Bar operators can spot excessive consumption and try to dissuade drinkers from driving home . After all getting a taxi home has never been so easy and affordable . One careless decision , or failure to take the initiative can cost lives
